U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Chester Nez receives an American flag from Pfc. Tiffany Boyd, at Code Talker Hall, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., April 4, 2014. During the World Wars, native Americans played and unique part in communications. “there were approximately 400-500 Native Americans in the United States Marine Corps whose primary job was the transmission of secret tactical messages.”
