  1. Major, thank you for sharing this. This man is a warrior…fierce in battle, tender in heart. We need to be aware that wounded warriors are not just injured in body, but in mind and soul as well. I know all too well that bond amongst those who serve as a wife of a soldier during Desert Storm whose outfit was sent over. Survivor’s guilt has got to be tremendous when All were killed.

  2. I’m glad you saw this and was able to post it. I read it in WSJ last week. It is heartbreaking in so many ways to think about the emotional scars and burdens these warriors carry. I can’t explain it, but I believe in my heart this particular Marine will be able to outlive his demons, when others have succumbed. I pray I’m right.

  3. I posted this on facebook on Feb. 18th. My brother-in-law had the samething
happen to him in Vietnam. He was supposed to get on a chopper but there was
one to many people, so he gave up his seat to a chaplain. The chopper went
down there was no survivors. The differents is all the people on the chopper
were not his friends like in the video, and he never had survivors guilt.

  4. Wow…just want to reach out and tell him it will be okay, but I know it won’t help one bit, nor do I know it will ever be okay. There just are no words. What a tremendous burden for an extraordinary person.
