Being a Marine isn’t skin deep and Semper Fidelis (Latin for Always Faithful) isn’t just a saying, it’s a way of life. From the initial hours of boot camp the Marine Corps begins to seep into your veins and stays in it forever. Once a Marine always a Marine.
This type of dedication is what assists your Marines as they carry out the some of the most toughest missions. It’s not easy, people are trying to kill you and your working your ass off. Welcome to the Marine infantry.
Being a Marine isn’t skin deep
There are many times in the Marine infantry you will find yourself enjoying yet another unique situation your trade provides you and while you are physically worn, running at 17000 rpms you are still mentally strong. Those next to you that have also earned the Eagle Globe and Anchor know how you feel but they won’t let you down.
Being a Marine isn’t skin deep. It’s not Dress Blues uniforms that you might only get to wear once a year (unless you’re deployed then not at all) or some red & yellow bumper sticker, it’s a brotherhood, it’s a life style. Regardless of rank, some have described the Marines as a cult or mafia. We like to call The Marine Corps. It’s our Gun Club and it’s for those young and old who have been making it a point to train Marines and win battles. It’s what we do. The Navy & Army can have the have football teams, we protect a Nation not a quarterback.
Some may see “Semper Fidelis” on a sticker but being “Always Faithful” is a way of life for Marines to protect America and it goes beyond skin deep.
Time for a CGar!
