  1. I read this with tears in my eyes. I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE THE MARINES CAN MAKE FOR A SICK CHILD! My Gunny, was a frail little thing that endured much. She was terrified even to see anyone in a white coat. The mention of us having to go to the doctor, any type of testing, the hospital..it would send her into a deep gutteral terror at times.
The Marines, the only way I can describe what they did for my Gunny is…..LIFE ALTERING! She is only 13, but she is fierce now. She fights her health and battles with the determination and bravery of a gladiator. Why? The Marines wrapped my little girl in their arms and carried her, they pushed her and gave her courage. Don’t any one of you guys ever doubt the amazing difference you can make for a child. My daughter is living proof. God Bless this little girl, I know we will be sending her cards and letting her know just how special she is!

  2. Sgt. was a Marine when we first got married and we are now a National Guard family. The military community is one that is unparalleled in the support of their brothers and sisters and their families. This letter touched my heart greatly and I just stamped my first letter to mail to Kimberly. The spirit of a child is an important one and I know every letter, card, well wish, etc. will help to keep hers up as well as the spirit of her family.
    Thank you for sharing this.
