Valour_it Project Valour-IT, in memory of SFC William V. Ziegenfuss (Captain Chuck Ziegenfuss’ father), provides voice-controlled software and laptop computers to wounded Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines recovering from hand and arm injuries or amputations at major military medical centers. Operating laptops by speaking into a microphone, our wounded heroes are able to send and receive messages from friends and loved ones, surf the ‘Net, and communicate with buddies still in the field without having to press a key or move a mouse. I have used this software myself and it is crucial for wounded warriors to have. It not only brings them communication that is needed it helps them heal!! Go to the below tab and donate on the Marine Team!! Cโ€™mon, join the winning team, who wants to be Army strong, when you are Marine Mean!!

  1. Sorry, Sir – Done, but had to hit the Navy button if I want my son to continue speaking to me. o/t Got my calendars today – they’re great!

  2. GN – NOT funny! Are we going to have to get you professional help? I know I’m wearing you down. When you go to sleep tonight you will be thinking ARMY STRONG! ARMY STRONG! ARMY STRONG!

  3. Done Deal, Sir. And if there’s money left over in the vacation kitty after I get back from Lejeune next week, it will go there, too.
My first “real” (vice cadet) MC Ball!! I can’t wait.

  4. Hey bud…you guys are gettin’ beat by the Air Force even! Where are all your tough Marines?? You know…”The Few, The Loud”;)

  5. Well, since the squids were trailing the pack I had to donate to them as well as the Marines. Got my calender this week…Thanks a bunch…As far as the Kerry flap, the photo posted on the Anysoldier site kind of says it all for me…

  6. Done the first nite you posted Major P. Oh how I wish you could go get an apology in person from creepy kerry. He’s the joke. And boy is the media bias showing up loud and clear!!

  7. GN – Don’t make me have to come to…where you live (cuz I know) and settle this on the lawn! Keep puttin’ down my Soldiers and it ain’t gonna be pretty! :):):) (Of course those mean I’m kidding. I DO know where you live though so…
By-the-way, WHICH branch has been in the LEAD of Valour IT pretty much from the get go? Hmmmmm
    ARMY STRONG!!!!!

  8. First, it was “Be all you can be.” but they forgot to buy the rights to that.
Bammo, now it was an Army of One (like meaning if you join too it would be an Army of Two)
    Now it’s Army Strong.
Those guys have a real identity crisis no?
And another thing GN has already laid a plan to sell tickets to watch the “Rumble on the Lawn” as in Chick fight chick fight. And the proceeds would go to the Marines Project VALOR IT fund.
    so there.

  9. *sneaks into comment thread*
*slaps JimB on the ass for being a weenie… and slaps Maj. Pain on the ass just cuz. hey. I think he liked it- he *is* Major PAIN, afterall!*

  10. Major,
I put a donation in for the Marines. I can’t stand the idea of the squids beating us. Joke. This is a very worthy cause. In fact I can’t think of cause more worthy. Wounded troops and families of the fallen deserve all we can do for them. They are often left on their own. I do have a question. Who teaches these guys how to use voice recognition software and who helps them with computer problems? Does the voice recognition software take care of all mouse clicks and keyboarding issues? I am throwing this out to everyone. I just picture a warrior talking to a computer and seeing only a blinking cursor. So my next question is how do we find these guys and help them with computer issues? Sending money is great but the greater need may be in helping these guys with a personal visit and helping them with not only computers but personal needs. Like a ride in a car. Like a hug for service rendered. I think I will go now. The screen seems to blur. Post ideas and info.

  11. Small donation yesterday but unfortunately for this competition I sponsored a laptop the first of October for $800. It may not count towards the grand total but Iโ€™m sure we can consider it as getting there first. (The good part is someone got a laptop last weekend and should be putting it to good use.)
    Semper Fi

  12. Oooooh AF Sis you better be careful! Don’t be messin’ with JimB, he’s another one of those Marine types…his Mrs. might have to straighten you out! As for the Major, I think he’s on his own:) Sumthin tells me that the lovely Mrs. Major walks around shaking her head ALOT! ๐Ÿ™‚
Texasdillo, your question could probably be better answered by Soldier’s Angels. I know that some of the computers have been delivered in person and help was available at that time. I don’t know the exact process though in determining how they will be delivered or set up. I’m sure if you contact Patty Bader at that org., she or one of her reps will be happy to steer you in the right direction.

  13. For Texasdillo and all others who wonder how it works, look here:
Any recipient of a laptop gets all the help he/she needs in operating it. Other laptops are placed in Libraries at medical facilites and help is also made available to anyone who needs it.
I’ve been involved with this project (from a fund raising standpoint) and I also know two of the people who have benefitted GREATLY from the use of these wonderful little machines. It’s definitely worth a few bucks of anyone’s donation money!
    Semper Gratus!

  14. “By-the-way, WHICH branch has been in the LEAD of Valour IT pretty much from the get go? Hmmmmm”
Geezowheez Leta, how many Doggies are there compared to Marines? The Army has what? 800 bazillion folks in uniform? If you WEREN’T leading I’d be asking questions!
Ruh-Roh, wait a minute! Isn’t that the United States Marine Corps IN THE LEAD right now? Heh! The smallest branch is kickin’ butt! yuk-yuk!
Just for that check your e-mail! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

  15. The Army’s just lulling you Marine types in to a sense of false security until the last minute!
I got the email JarheadDad! I’ll be responding to it soon. Didn’t figure it was “proper” to respond the way I initially thought being it is Sunday you know! ๐Ÿ™‚
I’m still waiting for GunnNutt to reply as to whether she’s willing to rumble on the lawn with me as a fund raiser. She can even pick the “medium” – jello, mud, etc. I’m thinkin’ she’s just too scared knowing “her” Marines won’t be doing the dirty work for her! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

  16. ” *slap*………yes I liked it! Now donate $1000 big ones……… ass aint cheap!”
Honey… don’t you know by now that a Church Lady ass-slap is worth WAY more than a grand? Besides. Most guys pay US* for that sort of treatment.
*diamonds, chocolate and pedicures gladly accepted for payment

  17. I think that there is not a good idea to write the college essay by your own! For me, that would be easier to buy the academic essay from essays online service, just because it will save time.
